Re: Fujitsu P1510
If I recall correctly the P series has proprietary (and expensive) HDD cables.
I'm quite happy with my TC1100 tablet/slate. I use it with the keyboard removed most of the time.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
I just got one of these but it hasn't arrived yet ... any tips, pointers, OS or driver info would be greatly appreciated.
It's coming with low RAM, no HDD and no power adapter.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
If I recall correctly certain Fujitsu units - P1510 being one of them - used the same 172-pin proprietary RAM that Panasonic was fond of at the time. It used to be outrageously expensive back in the days.
I'd love to be proven wrong on that one.
Great screens these machines had. At least that's what I remember. It's been quite a while.
Good luck.

Yes the RAM stick is shorter.
I need a 1.8" HDD and a power adapter.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
It has 1GB RAM.
I found an original power adapter on ebay and got a 1.8" HDD.
I can't load an OS via USB optical drive NOR thumbdrive.
What am I to do?

Re: Fujitsu P1510
Throw a bootloader on the hard drive, and boot from it.
If you install Plop boot manager on the hard drive, you can then chainload optical/usb drives.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
I downloaded plop boot manager.
I don't have a 1.8" IDE to USB adapter to dump the boot loader to it.
I suppose I could buy a 1.8" to 2.5" IDE connector and use the 2.5" USB adapter I have.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
That is a viable option. Alternatively, (which I just remembered) you may try booting it via network, a.k.a PXE. It's slightly tricky to get to work, but once set up you can easily boot most computers still in existence. On a Windows machine, tftpd32 is pretty handy.ParatoOptimal wrote: I don't have a 1.8" IDE to USB adapter to dump the boot loader to it.

Boot options for these older Fujitsu machines are indeed pretty limited. I have a Lifebook B2562, and it can only boot from internal hdd, a few select Fujitsu external CD drives, a Fujitsu external floppy, or PXE.

Re: Fujitsu P1510
It has a preboot that mentions PXE.
It didn't seem to do any good.
I set the BIOS not to show it anymore.
So, now, it just reports one line about no OS detected.
