The T410 only has a 5% discount right now. The current sale ends the 7th, should I wait? Are there any special date I should wait for such as a back to school sale? thanks!

Hard to say, but I let both the Father's Day & 4th of July 15% sales go by. I'm going to wait until going back to school time to see what they are offering.

Of course, I could be wrong and get very disappointed.

I know how you feel. I had my dream setup for only $880 with my education discount and may sale. Now it's going to cost me over $1,100 for that setup. I was also disappointed by the 4th of July sale, it was a load of crap. Hopefully back to school has at least a 10% sale instead of this lame 5% crap. That's not much at all for this nation's independence! But then again it is from China. Do you happen to know when the back to school sale might start around? august?

I have no idea. My first inkling is when I get the email from lenovo. For instance, I received the 4th of July sale email on July 1.

Why not spend some money ($300-450) on a very good used T60? A lot cheaper than the $800-1200 you're planning on.
Also, what's all this nonsense about China, and one cannot trust them?
Nearly everything you buy nowadays is made or assembled in China!

I didn't mean that. I meant that it's coming from China and that Independence day is a huge important in this nation yet China doesn't give us a big sale. That's what I'm saying.

Yeah I cancelled the Sony Vaio because I noticed the t410 was only 50-100 more dollars so I thought i'd go with it instead of buying a case for the vaio which adds up. Well it's hard to make up your mind on something when dealing with a product over $1,000
