(non-HP) toner cartridges for HP LaserJet P1005

Hi,

I am looking for a toner cartridge for my father´s HP LaserJet P1005 printer. I don´t want to buy an original one from HP because they seem just so overpriced given that non-branded/recycled toners could do the job just as well. Whar are some good "brands" for recycled/non-branded/non-original toners suitable for HP printers (in particular for the HP P1005)?

For the most part I would agree that replacement cartridges are ok, but I recently had to replace a nearly new "Elite" brand replacement with a HP because the "Elite" was leaking toner all over everything. The cartridge was $50 us cheaper, but at $200 I lost money trying to save.

For LaserJet IIP printers, i have used Pelikan cartridges. They didn't cause any problems.

I have run HP, Kyocera and Brother laser printers with cheapo cartridges.
Never a problem. They were all remanufactured cartridges of rather obscure brands.
I won't use any refill, because of the (possible) mess and non-removable stains.
I use cheap ink cartridges off eBay in my inkjet printers (Canon and Brother) as well.
