Help with DVD Player/WIN DVD

#1 Post by misterpeachy » Sun Jun 13, 2004 1:45 pm

I just got my T42p in yesterday, and I'm having a slight problem with DVD playback. I'm playing a perfectly clean DVD on the pre-installed WIN DVD version 5, and about every 10 seconds there's a very annoying lag/skip probbaly in the software. I downloaded the IBM update for WinDVD; however, when I tried to run setup it said that the update was not supported for my version (although IBM said it was). Any help?

Thanks!

-Mike M.

Do you have this problem with all DVDs or just one?

All of them, in about the same spots, too. I updated audio, video and Directx drivers but to no avail.

I had the same problem, but on my Dell Dimension XPS T series mid-tower. Every few seconds I would get an audio skip. Driver updates had no effect and I became very frustrated.

It turned out that there was an audio driver problem. Reducing the hardware audio acceleration to minimum acceleration (one notch above no acceleration) cleared up the problem.

I don't know if you are having the same problem, but it's worth a shot.

Ill give it a try - how do you reduce the hardware acceleration? Did this result in lower quality sound?
