On the morning of 29th April it is estimated that 2 billion people will watch on TV the wedding of Catherine Middleton to Prince William at Westminster Abbey.

Will you be watching?

Since Clarence House has chosen to unreasonably restrict the use the broadcast feed of the event can be put to, and have forced the ABC to cancel The Chaser commentry, I certainly will not be watching ...

Well Bill, if you had watched our Secret Service were geared up for "The Chaser" aka Operation Pumpkin - you just don't know what might happen at your average British Royal Wedding

Does that decrease my taxes or improve my cell phone reception?
If not, who really cares all that much about the Buckhouse family...
I didn't watch it, got better things to do.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Okay? That was unexpected. It isn't hurting you or anything, nobody is forcing it upon you, just don't watch it.

We had a village party. The local pub set up a huge screen in a marquee, laid on Champagne and canapes during the wedding, followed by lunch.
We started at 10:30 and most people called it a day at about 20:00. Some went on for much longer.

The bride was stunning ... so was Pippa, Catherine's sister, who was Maid of Honour. The music was carefully chosen. The Chaucer quote was apposite.

The Queen was magnificent, Prince Harry looked like an old-fashioned cavalry officer, but Prince William's tailor needed shooting for supplying a badly fitting uniform. The flypasts were timed perfectly ... what a sight, what a sound! Prince Charles's Aston Martin DB6 even had an outing.

We all had a great time. People came from all over the world to see the event and loved it. Nobody in the world can do events as well as this. If you missed it then you have missed a huge chunk from your life and I feel sorry for you.

@RBS: If you want your phone reception improved the please contact your service provider. If you want your taxes reduced then please contact the US government. They took over our land in 1776 so they have to pay now.

Denmark is a lovely country and I respect their people and their culture. However, their venue hardly matches Westminster Abbey ... which goes back to the 11th century and King Edward the Confessor. If you go to the Westminster Abbey website (google it) you can get a 3D view of the Abbey. This was free last week on the BBC website but now requires a small contribution to charity.

Regarding panoramic pictures, have a look at this HD view of the Mall: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13200114

I didn't watch it, as I had better things to do at that time in the morning (it was like oh-dark-thirty in the US).

I did hear, though, that some anarchist group or other was threatening to disrupt the ceremony, until the London police pulled them aside and pointed out that there'd be like half a million pro-royalty audience members, and between that and the various security concerns like terrorist attacks, the police couldn't guarantee the safety of the anarchists... who apparently then remembered the saying "discretion is the better part of valour" (UK spelling given the subject of the thread ;) ).
Just some nohbody with a ThinkPad R51-1830BTU.
