HI,

missing screw caps on my LCD panel.
any idea where can I buy them?
Can't find any FRU for them.
FRU 04W2217 which is screw pack doesn't contain 'em.


any ideas?

without looking first, in the past, under IBM and i suppose now lenovo, those sorts mof things came in a group of small parts.. you'll need to go through the hardware maintenance manual for your particular thinkpad, look at the parts breakdown (exploded view) and follow the numbers to the parts list..

you might end up with a bunch of other un-needed parts but the overall cost is usually fairly small..

also, you can check ebay for some of those small items..
since lenovo bought the PC division parts like that have turned up there..

I've tried HMM allready and there is no FRU for these.
I've tried ebay allready as well.

there IS, or there should be..
in the past there was..

i'll look at one of my old HMM's and check it out but i need to d/l pdf reader..

better yet, send me a link to your HMM and i'll look at IT..

i'm looking at a T61p HMM but yours should be similar..

look under miscellaneous parts..

it's not there.

I have plenty of thinkpads and ussually had no problem to find any parts with HMM.
however in x121e HMM is no FRU for lcd screw caps.

looks like there is no misc. parts kit for this..

in the IBM days anmd for a few years thereafter when faced with this sort of thing i would call IBM Boulder Parts operation..
i forget the number but they could look up most any part..
not sure if lenovo does the same or if Boulder Parts still does this service for lenovo thinkpads..
