mSATA SSD in x121e with AMD E450

#1 Post by feklee » Sun Nov 25, 2012 9:17 am

In Germany, the X121e / AMD E450 is currently available dirt cheap at around 300 EUR (ca. 400 USD). Now, I wonder: Is it possible to later upgrade it with an mSATA SSD, to be used in addition to the conventional HDD?

Price wise, the alternative could be an Edge E325 or an Edge E135, both with AMD CPUs. But that would raise the same question, and I assume that Edge Thinkpads are not as rugged.

Hello,

Is mSATA SSD supported on Intel i3 x121e? for example Intel 310 SSD mSATA instead of WWAN card...
maybe it's now possible with a bios update or windows 8?

thanks

Do you know if this is a driver, a firmware or a chipset issue? Though I presume the last one, I hope for it to be one of the first two reasons, because that would be fixable.
