Bypass infamous error 1802 on x131e AMD

Hi all,

I'm trying to install an Intel WiFi Link 1000 (112BNHMW) card in an x131e AMD laptop. It's not on the whitelist so the system spits out the aforementioned error and fails to boot with it installed.

How do I get past this error? Blocking off pin #20 on the card offers no cigar. I would flash/patch the BIOS (I'm on BIOS version 2.5 by the way) but it seems all of that stuff is for classic hardware only. :|

Any advice? Before anyone asks, I'm using this card for FreeBSD compatibility.

A bit of an update, I finally managed to get the 2.50 BIOS extracted from the ISO Lenovo offers. All I can say is that El Torito is a pain in the rear, it was not an easy task.

The relevant file is $0ag9000.fl1 (4.5MB), which after decompression comes out to 11MB.

Now comes the hurdle of actually digging in to the file and nuking the whitelist (that or replacing one of the cards on the whitelist with the Intel I want to use). Dear lord this isn't going to be easy.

If anyone wants to chime in with advice or anything... please do.

I've already done that, actually. Problem is that it seems nobody wants to bother removing whitelists over there. :(
