warranty period
Hi,
I ordered my X100e on May 10 from Amazon. I received it 4 days later. It works great.
When I enter my model and serial number on the Lenovo website to see my warranty, it tells me, it will end March 28 2011. I am sure I have a 1 year warranty. Can anybody explain?
Thanks
Abe

Re: warranty period
hi AC*....
I would call Lenovo ,,, and ask for Warranty Dept ; they would explain the 'diferance'....
>i suspect its a 'used' laptop and someone else ALREADY had USE OF IT - regardless of that what 'bay pple would tell you. IBM is atleast still has a maintance task of 'system info/warranty support' for Lenovo - they are flawless in my view!
Sorry this might not sound good news , but its better to KNOW NOW from the warranty pple than suspect/speculate....
Cheers

Re: warranty period
For most Lenovo warranty's, it is based upon when the machine was originally built. In this case for you, you could probably call up Lenovo to verify this. If you were to have a warranty claim after the warranty but before 1 year from the time you purchased it, you could probably offer up your receipt. Regardless, I'd still call Lenovo for clarification.

Re: warranty period
It's not used. The date is probably based on when it was built or shipped to Amazon or the distributor they bought 1000's from. What you need to do is submit your receipt to Lenovo to get that fixed. Make sure you also keep the receipt.

Re: warranty period
The guy (or gal) did not say he bought it off eBay. If its direct from Lenovo they have to pick a date so ship date is considered fair provided its expeditious and that is when sales title changes hands assuming no hiccups with the carrier. For a retailer should generally be the date of purchase as that is when the title to the machine changed hands. If bought from a retailer some manufactuers will put in an arbritary date based on shipment. So one has to call to get it adjusted.
BTW the FIRST sentence specifically stated it was from Amazon.
