Fan noise issues since latest firmware upgrade w/MV-40

Hi!

Is anyone experiencing problems with the cpu fan running all the time since the latest updates?

I recently upgraded the BIOS to v1.23 and Power Manager to v3.20 on my MV-40 x100 and use the "Energy Star" power profile,
I'm not sure though whether it's due to rising temperatures around here (in Europe/Austria) or the updates.

Any experiences and insights are greatly appreciated,
- thanks!

My L625 x100e also has both 1.23 BIOS and PM 3.2, but I don't see the "Energy Star" profile. In advanced mode I see Maximum Performance, Power Source Optimized, Timers Off, Video Playback, and Maximum Battery Life. In any one of the profiles you can select "Advanced Settings," and go to "Processor Power Management," in there you can choose system cooling policy, I always check Passive when on battery and Active when it's plugged in.

My fan does run all the time, but for most of the time I can hardly notice the noise and the air coming from it isn't too hot. I haven't seen the fan stops completely though, I don't think it'll ever do that, just running at a lower RPM. The noise should only be noticable when the fan revs up.

Thanks!

So far, it seems it has been related to the rising temperatures around here... when I started using my x100 this morning, the fan did run but in the usual quiet way (unlike yesterday where it was running non-stop.)

I suppose I'll have to upgrade the cooling system in my room... ;-)

I have mine sits on a netbook cooler, I'm not particularly concerned about the CPU, but I really think the WiFi module will crap out prematurely due to excessive heat.
