Hard Drive Caddy Part Number for X100e

#1 Post by pswartz » Tue Jun 08, 2010 8:49 pm

I am trying to purchase a second hard drive caddy so that I can easily swap drives. I am unable to find the "FRU" number. I've called various IBM numbers, but no one can seem to provide an orderable part number. Perhaps someone can assist.

On the drive which came with my unit, the sticker on the caddy has these numbers on them:

ASM P/N: NA 100402 FRU 60Y5091
FRU 60Y5285

The FRU 60Y5285 comes up as a "Miscellaneous parts kit" for $24, but IBM can't tell me what is in the kit, let alone, if this is what I need.

Any ideas?

I suppose there is just the caddy itself w/o the screw kit.

You can buy it here, for a not so cheap price...

$24 for a sheet of aluminum the thickness of a soda can along with screws you can get for free as samples at Home Depot is nuts. I never recommend eBay but for a HDD caddy you cant go wrong. Cant see it. You know it works when you see it etc. You can buy at least 12 of them for $24.
