Sharing usage notes on X100e with Forum

Hey all, wanted to pipe up with some observations that might help other folks with the X100e and, at the same time, encourage other real-use tricks and techniques to be shared.
[*] I upgraded my stock 3GB ram (1+2) to 4GB (2+2) using a stick of 2GB from an HP laptop I was prepping to sell. Immediately noticed HEAT INCREASE which led to higher fan use, uncomfortable thighs and a concern about long-term issues at the temps I was feeling.
I want to find COOL 2GB/4GB memory sticks to install - anyone with low-temperature so-dimm experiences?
[*] I upgraded to a G-Skill Sniper 60GB SSD and love it. Quiet. Cooler. Response from boot/sleep/apps/etc. have improved and very satisfactory.
Using the Microsoft Win7 USB/DVD Download software tool to create a 4GB USB stick with my Win7 Ultimate 64bit install allowed for a FULL WINDOWS 7 install from scratch (boot, install, boot, desktop) in under 12 minutes! Wonderful to OS tinkerers.
[*] I have been experimenting with iPortable OSX and have a pretty stable OSX 10.6.2 implementation on my X100e
Use the ANV_KERNEL (supports AMD better than chocolate_kernel), Quartz Extreme not working but the ATI3200 has full resolution, VGA out not tested, sound works as well as Ethernet, trackpoint and touchpad work, SD card works, no WiFi, device runs kinda hot, no sleep, restart and shutdown fine. Will continue to futz and see and share.
[*] BEST HEAT REDUCTION TIP for X100e Windows 7 Users: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9
I was all about Chrome, coming from Firefox and IE was ancient history. Call me a convert! After being aggravated by the increasing heat levels (my stock setup 625proc/3GBram/160GBhd was mild, new RAM is hot) my frustration led me to try IE 9. Immediate difference. Chrome has been removed from usage and all my browsing is done with IE9 - the fan never comes on loud enough to hear. It used to let me know all the time that it was struggling to control heat. Truly made a huge difference.
[*] I don't install Lenovo Power Manager and don't have any battery, hardware or software issues
[*] In the last 6 months I bought a Macbook Air 11 for wife, Alienware M11x for son, and yet there is no loss of love for my X100e. As my bedside workstation, morning newspaper, and mobile desktop - the X100e is my favorite. Long live trackpoint!
I'll be happy to answer questions and I hope to add some other thoughts in the future to this thread.
