ThinkPad 755CX

#1 Post by goldeneagle » Mon Sep 11, 2017 9:16 pm

Does anyone know if the 755CX can use Li-Ion batteries like those in the 760 series? I'm currently bidding on one on ebay, but I also found one off ebay - it's an 800x600 version, and I got it for only USD $75 (the guy who sold it is also selling me 4 x 750 series batteries, in case I want to rebuild some more).
Historic ThinkPads owned:
300, 360C, 360CE (x2), 360CSE, 510CS, 560, 560E, 701C, 701CS, 730TE, 750, 750C, 755C (x3), 755CE, 755CX (SVGA), 755CD, 760ED
Newer ThinkPads owned:
T520, W520, X220 Tablet, and some T61/X61T laying around somewhere

My P75 755CDV(afaik has the same mobo as 755CX) take LI-ION if that helps you.
Welcome to the jungle, we have FrankenPads
If you want it you're going to bleed, but that is the price to pay
And you're a very rare mobo, very hard to get
You can see the blinky lights, but you won't get them for free.

It both does and doesn't. The question is not whether it takes Li-Ion (which I know it does), but whether I can use the same packs as a 760C/E/X series.

Any chance you could take a picture of your Li-Ion pack and email or text it to me (obviously asking for my contact info via PM), or post one on here?

Check out my thread on the 755CDV LI-ION support.
