ThinkPad 600X EEPROM Dump needed

#1 Post by Totoro-kun » Wed Oct 09, 2019 7:14 am

Hello,

This is probably a long shot, but I have found a 600x laptop laying around. It would be nice to make it work again, but currently it shows an error 188.

As far as I know it's some kind of eeprom crc error, which could be resolved with flashing rom of the working machine, either to the old or new Atmel chip: http://www.ja.axxs.net/600x.htm

These machines are a bit rare now days and chances to get a donor or find working one in my area are quite slim. I was wondering, maybe someone here would happen to have an EEPROM dump from a working 600X? Some advice on the issue would be very much welcome

Any idea which model 600X you have? If I can someone muster the energy to dig out my eeprom reading rig, I could check...but I think that you need to match models first. if they don't match, it is pointless for me to dig. LOL.
