TP 770X Slow internet

#1 Post by manfred » Sun Oct 23, 2011 2:35 pm

I have a question about the Internet in 770x. I'm using USB EDIMAX card to connect to the Internet. But in Thinkpad the USB is 1.1. Does it matters? Because pages load slowly, and I don't know whether it's the fault of the processor or the speed of USB? Connection is showed as "great" with high speed of the Internet.

USB 1.1 is a pain when used for networking of any kind...

My suggestion would go along the lines of getting a PCMCIA wireless card. They are quite inexpensive nowadays.

That being said, today's Internet with tons of Flash and what not will stress out the good old 770x easily, but using a light browser with anything non-essential disabled should help.

Good luck.

i use wireless on my 770ED and it is much faster than using the awful USB connection. It is still really slow in comparison to modern day computers like ajkula66 said.
