Hey fellow thinkpadders. I found something neat on eaby.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320834838159?ss ... 1438.l2649
ThinkPad 700 with the "butterfly" keyboard. My neighbor had one of these when I was in grade school and I thought it was super cool. Collectable? Maybe. Cool to have in a collection? Definitely.
This is NOT my auction.

Although from the pictures seems she has taken some beating

I'd love to have it just to have... but I don't really need it, and I have pretty limited storage/display space in my current living situation. I'm actually looking to replace my R61 with a 14" Z61t.
When I have more time/money/space I plan on building out my collection, but until then I'll just love my R61, X61t and M55.

That one would be worth buying just to get all the books and documentation. Put all that with another 701c that isn't all beat, up, and that would be some collectible!

Please be aware that the
Z61t is on a par with the
T60, with a 4GB (3GB usable) hardware RAM limit!
The R61 is on a par with the T61. Both R61/T61 can run at SATA II speed using Middleton's BIOS (this does
not work on Z61).
The forum owner, Bill Morrow, has a whole collection of 701 machines for sale in the Marketplace Forum!

I'm not really worried about what the Z61t is capable of. My R61 is pretty superfluous in my collection anyway. Thanks for the heads up though. I like the Z series because it's unique to the thinkpad line. (-:
