I need to replace the CMOS battery on my 760EL but I am confused as to which battery I need to replace. My other question is just where is/are these batteries located? The on-line maintenance manual seems to be pointing to an area on the backside of the keyboard. If so, do I access by removing the screws on the reverse side of the keyboard after I flip up same? Thanks for any assistance.

There are three batteries in the 760 series laptops, the standby battery, the CMOS battery and the main battery.

The CMOS and standby batteries are accesible by lifting up the keyboard and undoing the screws on the backside of the keyboard under the area the palmrest is then removing the palmrest. One battery is yellow, that's the CMOS. The other battery is green, that's the standby battery.

No problem.

If you have any more questions about the 760, don't hesitate to ask. I've done so much work building and fixing these things that I could probably take one apart totally and rebuild it blindfolded.
