Bios StartUp Options For Thinkpad T600 / 600E / 600X

1st time here.

Basically have got a Thinkpad T600, 600E, 600X.
I have installed Win2000 Pro on the T600 but had to do so by
logging onto the laptop and running setup.exe from Explorer
- the installation took over after that.

What I wanted or rather want to do is install a new O/S from cd
i.e. have the laptop bootup from cd as the 1st Startup Option / Boot order.

I have been into the bios and have been able to add the cd-rom to
the list of possible Boot devices but have no idea as to how to change
the order of the boot devices.
By default the Startup Options are in order
1. Floppy
2. HDD
3. Cd-Rom

Can anyone tell or talk me through changing the order of these 3 boot up
options so that I can have the cd-rom as 1st option?

I have visited the manuals & maintenance link (from this site) and found
no reference to the Bios at all yet alone configuring it.

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mo ... xusrgd.pdf page 21 actual (43 in Acrobat).

The key is to first select RESET and then to select the devices in the order you want them to be used at BOOT. The preferred default is CDROM, FDD, HDD-1.
