755cx broken dc/dc

#1 Post by citan » Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:54 am

Hi,

sorry for my poor english, and hello, as it is my first topic.

I've bought a battery for 755cx (i know its good - 1.5h without power saving) but my 755cx was unable to work with it ...

TP recognizes fully loaded battery as 0% and cannot load it. When i switch battery to 0 (storage switch) then TP works 1.5h, but doesn't recognize state of battery.

So i've found that dc/dc voltage (pin 1 and 4 - great docs IBM, thanks ;) ) is 4V (should be about 8V).

Now i need dc/dc (85g8551) but it seems, it is impossible to buy it. There was an auction on ebay, but US only (i live in Poland).

Can you help me, where can i buy (cheap ;) ) dc/dc for my TP?

Thanks for help (and sorry for my english again).
Greetings

I'd look around for another 755cx that's broken and/or being sold for parts and pull the dc/dc from it.
