600X screen on/off

hello all

my beloved 600X is having problems. more often than not these days when i go to start my 600X i get a washed out gray screen (or dark with lots of horizontal thin lines) with no desktop items showing. after a few movements of the screen (back and forth on hinges) and/or launching the machine into standby or restarting, the screen comes back. when it is on the screen looks fine and there are no problems with it, the only issue is this noncompliance when returning from standby or restarting. any ideas? thanks
