Hi all, I have a 755CX that I put up for a year or so (it was working) when I brought it back up I had a dead cmos and resume batt.and a 201 error. I replaced the batteries and still:

The system will boot but it skips the onboard ram and only sees the 32 mb mem card and not the onboard mem.

I am not sure how to tackle the resolution of this problem. Can the onboard be replaced?

Thanks

Chasrb.

I know from Thinkpad 600 the following method to switch off onboard-RAM:

Go into BIOS and there into the CMOS-Editor (cancel on Error-Message --> you'll get into Test-Menü, from there with "Esc" back into main menu.
Go into "Config", press ctrl+d).
Change the value in Line "20", column "B" from 80 to 81 and save with F2.
Turn off computer, wait a few seconds and turn on again. The RAM should now be disabled and not generate an error message.

I hope, it works with 755, too.
