DVD for 600X

Kindly advise compatibility of IBM DVD part numbers: 27L3731 27L3730 27L3755 27L3754 05K9106 05K9105 05K9068 05K9067 for my IBM 600X Type 2645-4EU (made in UK = which seems to be EMEA)

If they are "Slimbay" drives, but NOT "UltraSlimBay" or "SlimBay2000" they will fit. There may be some issues with the faceplate not being even with the front of the computer if the "slimbay" drive isn't an IBM model. You will need the adapter and rails from the original CD-ROM also.

Search the forum, there are a couple posts with links to drives that are available now.

Contrary to what farna wrote, the 600X has an UltraSlimBay. If you buy an IBM drive, only UltraSlimBay devices will fit properly.

Other IBM devices may fit with some tinkering, and devices from other makers will often fit with some tinkering.

Go to IBM's web site and get the User Guide for your machine to read what they say about the 600X. Then type in each of those part numbers to read what they say about what kind of device it is.
