600e Wont turn on

#1 Post by mitts2010 » Tue May 03, 2005 8:41 pm

I plug in the computer to the wall, then I switch on the power button the lights light up for a second and then the fan moves and then it stops. The cmos battery is fine (replaced it) the main battery is almost dead.

What I do (all I want is to hook it up to my network and use it as a file server) Thanks!

Get another CMOS battery, sounds like you got a bad one.

Reseat any added memory.

And of course try it with your battery removed.

My experience too with a dead ThinkPad 600.

New CMOS battery and out with the dead main-battery.
Fired it up and it returned to the living world.

Kindest regards
