I followed the instructions from this link. http://www.thinkpads.com/6gig-limit.htm

But i didn't installed Win95 directly after that.
However, the low-level format seems to work. And bios indentify it as a small disk (when i boot from disk-manager floppy).

But when i breaks the power and try to boot up.
I always get a error message about the hdd. It seems like i have to boot up from the diskette first always.

What did i wrong when i used diskmanager?

Have you formatted the drive (NOT low level) and installed an OS? Without those two steps, the drive will never boot.

Oh wait. You didn't say what machine this is for, but this is the 770/600 area. You do NOT need to do anything to get a 600 to use a large disk. It will use drives up to 138GB just fine. No overlay is needed.
