600e Powers on... But nothing on screen...

#1 Post by Scott » Tue May 10, 2005 6:57 pm

I have a customer that asked me about this issue. I have little expierience with Sub Cards and thought I'd ask you guys. Upon reading this, I though it might be the inverter or the backlight. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My 600e powers on and the lights come on but nothing from the screen. I swapped the screen to check and the LCD screen works good on my 600 model. The computer just turns on, the cd spins up, the hard drive spins up, but no beep. It stays on until I turn it off. On my 600 I hear a beep, a flicker on the screen etc.

My question also includes this, if my sub card is bad, is the computer still supposed to post and am I supposed to be able to view if I add an external monitor? 2. if its my motherboard how can I tell the difference between bad board and bad sub card, although it charges the battery, seems like the hdd and cd rom spin in accordance to correct boot instructions 1st 2nd etc., basically, I know its not the LCD, inverter, keyboard, cmos battery but don’t know if its the sub card or the motherboard.
