Im using my ThinkPad 600X and supports up to 1024X768. Is there a way to get it to support 1200X900 or 1280X1024. Im not playing any games on it but just word and internet. I remember I use to like 1024X768 back then when 800X600 was the high. Does these resolutions depend on the LCD screens or the graphics card?

I do have a EasiDock that gives me really high resolution on a External screen but was woundering for the laptop its self.

By the way I still love the solid keyboard on the 600X.

Maximum resolution is limited by the LCD panel. Doesn't matter how much GPU power you have if the panel only has 1024X768 pixels.

If you're talking about the internal screen, the video BIOS is most likely the limiting factor.

For external displays, it's the amount of RAM on the graphics card.

1280 x 1024 x 4 bytes per pixel (for 32-bit color) = 5,242,880 bytes, more than the 4MB RAM on the Neomagic MagicGraph 256ZX.

You might be able to make it work at 16-bit color, which only needs 2,621,440 of video RAM.

I have successfully connected a SXGA (1280x1024) monitor to the 600X. However this only works in 16-bit color mode.
