Bringing 755CD to life

#1 Post by Ereinion » Thu Oct 10, 2013 1:07 am

Hello!
Recently I made one 755CD from 2 dead machines. But both notebooks had dead subboard with preinstalled 8 megs RAM.
Without this subboard laptop boots without memory error only after clearing CMOS by disconnecting CMOS Battery. It normally reboots.
But after shutdown it gets an 201 error and in memory tab in BIOS shows installed memory size as 24 megs (with 16 megs RAM stick) and usable size as 16 megs.
Is there any solution to make machine know, that there is no preinstalled memory or disable showing of this error? Something like Zender's or Middleton's BIOS patch?
Or only one choice for never getting this error is to get new memory subboard?
Without it machine works very realibly and only trouble is that I need disconnect CMOS battery every time I want turn laptop on.

Thanks!
