Installation of OS/2 on a ThinkPad 755CSE w/ Internal Flop.?

My IBM ThinkPad 755CSE which I bought from eBay will arrive tomorrow, so I am doing some research and preparation for its arrival... I decided to install OS/2 on the laptop but I found the following difficulties:

* First of all, how to install Warp 3 with diskettes grabbed from Internet (actually BA FTP)? They are all formatted in XDF format, which brought huge headache to me - as I have no idea how to write them to my floppies with a USB Floppy Drive, or is it even possible?

If I couldn't solve the problem above, the next choice will probably be OS/2 2.1x.

* But the Mwave 2.24 driver and support won't support OS/2 2.1x as stated by IBM, I knew there is a 1.10 version that works on 2.1x but I can't find the file of it. Or will it still work on 2.1x but not officially supported by IBM themselves?

I really don't want to go back to DOS... really...

And a extra question: do I need Windows driver installed for sound support under WIN-OS2?

Regards,

You still need DOS or 32-bit Windows (there is no support for DOS programs in x64) to write floppy images.
Next trouble - if you don't want to install OS/2 form many diskettes, you need to partition your HD with to partitions C: and D:
Leave C: unformatted and format D: as FAT16. And you need to write at least OS2IMAGE directory and os2se20.src file to root folder of it.
Than you will need only two or three diskettes for installation.
I've installed OS/2 (but Warp 4, not Warp 3) on 760E, that have MWave - drivers form IBM PCBBS work Ok. But I don't use WinOS/2 and can't say if it need additional drivers.
