760EL monitor driver...PLEASE!!!

#1 Post by apettifer » Mon May 16, 2005 3:42 am

OH GOD...please will someone provide the monitor driver for the TP760EL. I clean installed win98 and lost the driver and guess what IBM says...oh yeah, unsupported...before I toss the old goat out a window, can anyone provide this driver? My understanding is that it is IBM proprietary and therefore not included in any WIN standard driver package. (i.e. Monitor1-10.inf etc.)

If you have Win 98, the the OS should have a driver. Make sure Windows detects it as a Trident Cyber 9320, that's the chipset the SVGA 760E's, the 760EL's and the 760XL's used.

If you go to www.driverguide.com , you probably could find the driver. They make you register but they require no personal information. I usually go there first when I need a driver.

Oh, hey, if you do decide to throw it out the window, can you first box it up, stamp it and put my address on it?

I might still have it. I'll dig around tonight.

I believe the file I used for mine was "vftpgw9x.exe" and I was able to find it at video-drivers.com just now under Trident Microsystems.
Also I was able to find a bunch of stuff at IBM but I looked under "365x". They seem to group "365X/XD, 380, 385, 560, 760, 765" all together.

good luck!!
