Using the modem in my 701c

#1 Post by sega_dude » Tue Sep 16, 2014 2:42 pm

I would like to experiment with the modem in my 701c. I can't see to find any (Windows 3.1) drivers for it, so how do I use it?

Close the laptop, rub the lid three times (careful that your hand doesn't get stuck from the sticky rubber coating), and wish for the modem drivers to be installed. Kidding, of course.

Did you try installing the 'faxworks' program?
Driver package here: http://ibmfiles.com/ibmfiles/701c/701_r ... rivers.zip
System utilities > faxworks
Latest BIOS here: http://ibmfiles.com/ibmfiles/701c/sys7013o.zip

Alternatively I also have some sort of special windows restore disc, but I think it's only for win95.
2x T60p, 1x T61, loads of 701Cs, 1x WorkPad Z50, 2x TransNotes other random thinkpads...
