cant use cdrom in 570

i have ibm thinkpad which 570 series. i have installed new windows98se. all looks great and can used. but only one i cant use which is cdrom. when i connect the cdrom to my thinkpad by using USB, the windows appear USB Storage Device and need driver to install it. I have installed the driver but it still ask "USB Storage Device".

any idea...?
