166MB RAM on a 380XD?

If by any chance this will work... I will start looking on eBay. In addition... for a Pentium MMX model, will 60ns SODIMMs work? Or do I have to stick with 70ns?

Thanks… and yes, that was a stupid math error...rkawakami wrote:The tabook says that the 380XD shipped with 60ns EDO memory, so you will have to stick with that. As far as getting a total of 166MB, I'm a little confused. It looks like 32MB is on the motherboard and a single SODIMM slot with a 128MB module will total 160MB. Typo in your title?
From looking around, it appears that 160MB will work. 96MB was the maximum supported memory but then there weren't any 128MB modules around until a little bit later.

But doesn't MMC-1 modules have Northbridge included? Or do motherboards actually vary between 380XD line?fultontech wrote:I don't think you can just swap out the CPU on those due to supported chipsets. You would need to swap out the whole main board within the product 380 line.
And actually... I did try several Pentium I modules... And you know, it didn't work.fultontech wrote:I don't think you can just swap out the CPU on those due to supported chipsets. You would need to swap out the whole main board within the product 380 line.
