I have 2 questions please help

The first question is how can I use a cd-rom drive on my 701c?

And the second question is what does it take to upgrade to a larger hard drive? I mean does it take partitioning or can the bios support it.

Any help would be appreciated...

As your ThinkPad 701c does not have USB port, the simplest way is to use an external backpack optical drive that offers USB 2.0 and parallel port connection. You can check out some of the offerings from Micro-Solutions.

IBM only issued these computers with hard drives up to 720 MB. I believe the bios might have a problem recognizing a larger drives.

I am ordering one tommorrow. It even comes with the 95 b driver. Kool. Thanx much.

Also I now have the latest bios. It's version 3o. It should fix a few issues.
