Correct AC adapter for 760XL?

#1 Post by danikayser84 » Thu Aug 06, 2015 6:03 pm

A couple weeks ago I purchased an IBM 760XL at a flea market for $15 (no AC adapter or accessories), and I was wondering what the correct AC adapter is?

I found this one on eBay, but it is a 16V and not 20V like the bottom label of the machine prescribes; will plugging a 16V damage anything? (I know it takes a square/hexagon connector with 4 pins, which does not match any of my adapters)

Hi

Do an eBay search for 49G2194. I'm on my phone, so I have no URL to paste, but you will find two items for sale. That's the adapter that came with a 750C I bought, and it seems to be the easiest to find out of the old hexagon plug adapters I have. I have never owned a 760 or its adapter, but if it specifies 20V, you should be good to go with this one.

I've used the 16V hexagon on my 755C, which asks for 20V, with no issues.
