A21M Boot Issue

#1 Post by ThinkNuggets » Tue Oct 13, 2015 11:23 am

Hello all,

I have an A21M here that refuses to power up. The machine shows that the battery is accepting charge because I left it plugged in for hours and the battery indicator light came on permanently green after a while. When the power button is pressed the built in FDD clicks as though it is set to boot from that first and the power light flicks on green then off again instantly. The fan does not attempt to spin and the HDD does not begin to work, there is zero happening on the screen. This limited action lasts a second and that is it, it instantly powers down. I have tried with and without battery and mains power, I have held in the power button, I have removed and put back the RAM and removed the ultrabay DVD drive and this still happens. It seems the power socket is good as the battery is charging. Has anyone ever come across this before? I suspect that something on the motherboard is fried.

Thanks

All near mint, all working like a charm.
