A few questions; upgrade an A22p to IPS? dead display 755CE

I figure instead of making multiple threads I would have them here.
I checked about upgrading an A22p, I couldn't find any info via the search.
Had anyone tried it? I haven't opened t up yet so I don't know cable compatability.
The panel is from a dead UXGA A30, the A22p is UXGA.
panel condition is good, maybe a scuff or bright spot here or there, it's backlight looks to me be going out sometime next year, it's not red so it's not on my priority yet.
I have replaced backlights before, these models are easy compared to others.
Anyways, has anyone done it, if not, should I try it?
My A31p is giving me awesome lines at boot, the spare A31 is... not as cool looking as an A22p.
I can't figure out what's wrong with my 755CE.
It turns on but to no display, I replaced ram, removed the hard disk, removed both batteries and there's no boot.
I know it requires a somewhat proprietary AC adapter, I bought one of those converters you add to an IBM barrel charger, I would think the wattage and voltage is similar, I was able to boot a Dell laptop with a different connector from the same seller/manufacturer.
Since this machine has been a problem I'm thinking of sending it to back to the eBay cemetery where I dug it up from.
I shined a light on the LCD, no image at all, just typical beep errors from dead cmos/date and time codes.
I have a 365XD with a bad hinge, it looks similar to the 755CE except it has a plastic body, slightly bigger screen and slightly different feeling keyboard. Thinking about mobo swapping it on the dead 755CE, that keyboard feels better, I may not swap the screen.
Bonus round, a 700 series ThinkPad coming in.
Type 9552-301, not a 700T model like I would of wished but from the photos it looks like it says 700 PS/2.
Anyone had this one?
If it doesn't work, I will keep it as a paperweight until another 700 model comes by... However many years that'll take.
