#1 Post by Thinkerpad » Sun Jun 19, 2005 4:17 am

i have a IBM thinkpad 770Z 9549-81U and its battery will not charge. the adapter is fine and i just replaced the battery but still no luck. :( the indicator on the laptop always flashes "0%" but when i pull out the battery the indicator shuts off so i know that the computer is recognizing
the battery. :? do you think i should get an external charger?

Sounds like you got dud, being new has nothing to do with it, bad eggs happen man, If you have the reciet get a replacement, and if the same thing happens, then you have some problems, if your good enough, you may be able to salvage all the battery parts of a junk motherboard, get a test light, and make sure everything works right, I am pretty sure the battery is just a dud, but if not, just replace the motherboard for $70
if you don't know how, you can send it to me, and i'll help you out for free,
I built a few thinkpads, and a dell.

Hey Man, and your quite welcome, I enjoy helping people,
Well, can I take it off your hands, our church is in kneed of a computer, and if you'd like too help out, you'd be their hero, I'd have to put my owne money into fixing it, but it woulden't be too bad if you'd donate it.
Thanks a ton email me at Joelmc@outdrs.net with your answer
