There are no schematics for any Thinkpad keyboards. You will have to most likely destroy one in the name of science and discovery.
Probably should be Thinkpad16by10.

Looking For: 386 laptop, IBM or not.

I'll second that comment. I've seen a fair share of Thinkpad system schematics and they leave off the keyboard, display and inverter circuitry. Which makes sense as they only cover the motherboard. From my understanding, the keyboard is based on a 16 x 8 switch matrix which is then encoded into a sequence of bytes (scancode).

Thank you for your responses. I will try to do the reverse engineering then and I will inform you for any news. :)

You should NOT try this website (they want you to create a "free account"): http://rigva.co/wiring/lenovo-keyboard-diagram.html
No idea what's inside though.

WARNING: the "free account" for glialplay.com apparently is yet another scam-site for identity-theft and creditcard abuse...
See this: https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/glialplay.com

STAY AWAY.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

I'm sort of curious - did you ever find anything about this?

Hey Icewobs,

I've been busy for a while and I left it as it was. :)
Nevertheless I am planning on starting my project again. I will post here for any news ;)
Thanks for your interest.
