770E Keyboard Replacement

#1 Post by Blender » Wed Sep 27, 2017 7:15 pm

Hey everyone,

I just got done physically cleaning my 770E because of the sticky palm rest. I had to use isopropyl alcohol + goo gone to get it off. After the cleaning was done the keyboard now does not work correctly. I let it dry for a month and the keyboard still does not work right.

So I'm guessing the keyboard got damaged because of excessive liquid. Now I need to replace the keyboard.

The only part of the keyboard that works correctly is the ultranav.

Will a keyboard for a 770X fit a 770E? Because I can't find a 770E keyboard for sale.

All 770 Keyboards should be identical. Just check the 770's HMM. I doubt the 770 is like the T4x series which had 50 million keybowrd variants.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Thanks a lot Thinkpad4by3 , I found the part number for the keyboard I need from the HMM. It's much easier to search for the keyboard now that I have the part number.

This is great! :D
