Were there ever 5-1/4" floppy drives made for the 770 ultrabay? Anyone ever hooked one up externally? Thanks.

Uh... no. No there weren't.

There was a half length expansion slot on the original dock from 1992 that you could add a microchannel FDD controller card and attach an external 5.25" but I never saw anyone implement it.

There's a diagram or two towards the end. It looks like you could have a couple of external drives daisy chained off the back.
