600E will not boot with ultraslimbay battery.

Hi guys,

New here and I have a really weird problem.

I have an IBM Thinkpad 300E 2645-3AU (400mhz PII)

I just bought a new ultraslimbay battery off of ebay and i put it in the laptop.

I booted with the AC adapter, 1st battery, and bay battery and windows 2000 gives a "Stop error" on boot. something about the BIOS reporting a bad piece of hardware or something.

I also sometimes get error 163 and 173 when i reboot.

Does the ultraslimbay battery have to be fully charged for first time full use?

help me :(

HEy dude, the 163 and 173 are cmos battery error's your cmos battery has run dead, the cmos battery is located in the ram area, it's that little yellow deal, go to ebay for replacement.
regards
