Why were TP tablets not offered with TFT displays?

Older ThinkPads from the 300, 500, 600, 700 Series, iSeries, Transnote etc.

Why were TP tablets not offered with TFT displays?

#1 Post by Thinkpad4by3 » Wed May 23, 2018 9:42 am

The 750P, 360P and 360PE never came with TFT displays. Neither did the other slab ones like the 700T and 730TE. I've never seen an old tablet without a STN display. Why?
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
