Hi,
When I turn my 380 on I see all the LED's light up but nothing happens. I can hear the fan running but the display is blank. Has anyone had the same problem and know how I can fix it? I have replaced the HD and the same thing happens. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

If the display won't turn on but the LED's do, try hooking an external CRT to the computer and see if you get an image on that.

You could also try hitting the reset button on the bottom of the machine.

It acts like it is going to boot up but nothing happens. I have tried an external monitor and still nothing works. I have used the reset button too and nothing. Any suggestion?

Could be bad memory...could be bad CMOS battery....motherboard? could be something else....Do you get any error messages? Does it boot with a bootable floppy? I have a 380ED in a closet because the memory slot is bad and I hate using it with 16mb of RAM....Good luck whatever it is.

Remove the battery and the Powersuply, then take out the mem very carefully and clean the contact points. Use an eraser on a pencil or a loose one, has to be the soft one and not hard. Then put it back to see if it works:)

I've tried all of that and still can't get it to boot up. I have the boot diskette and CD rom in and all I hear is the CD spinning.

Disconnect the battery b4 booting, if that works then u have a defect battery. My IBM 701c will not do anything with the battery in it. but if i disconnect it the it will boot.
If it does not work, then i'm afraid that u will have to send it to service:(
With kind regards
