OS/2 on 390X or 390E

I've read the threads about running OS/2 on the 700 series but has anyone had luck getting it running on a 390X or 390E? I wasted many hours trying to make it boot, playing with new dani drivers and even getting the real boot disks from IBM's site. No luck it will install but never fully boots. I even went as far as installing it on a junk Pentium 4 box (which worked great) and imaging that drive to the Thinkpads but still no luck. Any tips or insight?

Yes, I have had luck getting it to work but that was more than 10 years ago. You needed an updated installation disc from off of the IBM website, of course I don't know if that is mirrored somewhere or Lenovo is hosting it now.
