760C - reload OS

I have 760C and I need to reload the OS (Win 98). The HDD is 1.08 GB and has a connector at right angles to the HDD body. Can anyone tell me what type of connector it is and whether I can get an adaptor to attach the HDD to my destop to reload the OS? Or is there another way the TP has no CD or USB PCMCIA port?
