IBM ThinkPad 390X HDD Adapter

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Mon Sep 24, 2018 11:55 am

I have a IBM ThinkPad 390X with no HDD, but I have the lose IDE adapter to motherboard connector. I was wondering since I like this about the ThinkPad 390 is there a SATA to motherboard connector and could go buy a SATA HDD or SATA SSD. I know they had the standard laptop IDE to SATA but the adapter would be too big for the HDD space in the ThinkPad.

I doubt you can get an adapter like you're looking for. You might try a CF card with an IDE to CF adapter.

Also, if you want one of those IDE adapters that it came with, there's plenty of them floating around on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... itleDesc=0
