The Ultimate ThinkPad 600X
I have a IBM ThinkPad 600X with a Intel Pentium III and I think if remember 256MB RAM, DVD drive and the swap of the Floppy Drive. I also have the Selectadock III and was thinking of getting a PCI graphics card for it. I already got a USB 2.0 4 port for the 1 PCI slot. Got a full desktop CD/RW/DVD Drive and a 770 floppy drive in the other slot. If I can find a PCI graphics card with DVI I could use my IBM 4K monitor even though I doubt it could support the resolution. What kind of graphics cards that is PCI are great and has anyone ever done this?

Re: The Ultimate ThinkPad 600X
Some time in the dark ages, I tested a number of graphics cards in the PCI slots of the SelectaDock III along with the 600X and 770Z systems.
Dock III - Unofficial Graphics Card Compatibility List:

As far as I know, the info on that page is still correct - though most of the links are broken. I haven't seen anything that lists additional compatible cards, though I would bet that there are some. Personally, I would look for a Voodoo-based card if you want to find a card that is most likely to be compatible, but I think the ones I have are all VGA. Not sure what to recommend if you need/want DVI output.

Whoa. I just did a quick eBay search to check out the prices on a PCI Voodoo 5 5500, which is the card I recommend. The prices for those are now insanely stratospheric (i.e. $400-$1000). So you might want to try a cheap nVidia card of the same era and see if you can that to work. You should be able to pick up one for $20 or so.

Re: The Ultimate ThinkPad 600X
Yea I got some cheap Nvidia cards in my PCI only slot desktops, so I may just get one of them and they also have a DVI port on them. I also checked my ThinkPad T60-T400 large dock and it has a full PCIe slot in it witch is great but don't know how I would go about a graphics card in that as the power is my concern. I got a 600W PSU in my desktop for a graphics card but don't know how that would work on this dock. Type: 2503
I love the old IBM large docks I got one for all my ThinkPads, witch gives a extra ultrabay slot for CD drive or HDD, PCI or PCIe, DVI and ports+ even the 2503 dock has a CF and other card slot reader. I don't know why Lenovo quit making a real dock for ThinkPads, they only make a USB hub now.
