380XD BIOS memory test fails

#1 Post by beshad » Tue Oct 09, 2018 7:47 pm

Hi guys,

i am proud new owner of a 380xd. while the laptop works fine it freezes (hangs) when i run the BIOS memory test. it starts with one beep and then two beeps a bit later while the progress-bar advances further then it stops like a third of the way and stays there, i can't move mouse or use keyboard until i hard-restart the laptop. does this mean there is something wrong with the ram module? or shall i just ignore it?

thank you

Beshad

I have a 32MB card in a 750C that seems to take forever to check, but it does finish eventually. I haven't timed it though.
