#1 Post by hoicsi » Thu Jan 24, 2019 4:04 am

Hello, can please someone tell me what this is? I bougt a 765D and it arrived in this coffer. I was not able to find any information about it; it is probably from the mid or late nineties. Is this a laptop case or enhancement? When I plug the power cord in, a red light on tehe bottom left side light up.

welcome to the forum..
no idea at all what that case is..
the 765 is at least 20+ years old..
i would guess it was something the former owner created..
it looks to be a nice case.. not sure what the circuit boards are..

Hi, that's a pretty cool case. While I no longer have mine, I know that there were plenty of cases for the old series machines - my Thinkpad 230 came with two cases (I think also Samsonite) where one held the laptop and one held a lot of the peripherals. I'm going to take a guess that (at least in some Asian countries) IBM had a marketing agreement with Samsonite.

Have fun with your machine!

Hey; thanks everyone. From the ports I believe the original set should have included a small printer as well, unfortunately it was not part of the package when i bought it.

Hi. I cannot open the link but assume I have something similar. My father bought it long time ago. It has an Olivetti printer in it, built in batteries and external floppy drive. My 765D still works fine except batteries. I have put it on the old it equipment exhibition recently and it was fun to watch young people playing Rally Championship on it. The only thing is that I could never find the adapter for network plug. I have only used irda to connect to internet via an old mobile phone.
I will link the photo after I get home in few weeks if anyone is interested.
