question about 600E CCFl + LCD

#1 Post by beshad » Fri May 03, 2019 3:38 am

hey all,

just received my replacement 600E CCFL which i ordered from ebay few weeks ago, it looks there is also LCD attached to it and LCD has couple big scratches on it so i rather reusing my own old LCD:

i only needed the CCFL components of the screen so is it easy to seperate the CCFL from this screen assembly? spending few minutes undoing some screws but it looks more complicated that just unscrewing few screws (unlike my 750c), i thought i'd better ask you guys first if i can seperate the CCFL lamp from the LCD easily or not? or if i am going to break/cut something if i attempt?

cheers

actually i think i found my answer:

so i have to look for a tube inside the screen assembly. i was under impression its a big flat rectangular panel, same size as LCD, similar to my 750c.

how does this thin tube distributes light/brightness evenly behind the LCD!?

Your 750C doesn't have a total LCD backlight. Every LCD ever outside of EL lit ones use side lighting.

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
